UPDATE: North Carolina issues swimming advisory for Corolla ocean side, sound areas of Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills
The North Carolina Department of Health and Natural Resources has issued an additional swimmers' advisory today, bringing to five those areas along the northern sounds under advisement. Today's advisory covers the ocean-side of Corolla Village Road near the lighthouse in Corolla.

BAE, Rolls-Royce Win $1.1 Billion India Hawk Order
BAE Systems Plc and Rolls-Royce Group Plc signed an agreement valued at about 700 million pounds ($1.1 billion) to supply Hawk pilot-trainer aircraft to India, U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron’s office said.

Swimming advisory set at Kitty Hawk Bay
KITTY HAWK, N.C. North Carolina environmental health officials are advising swimmers to avoid a section of Kitty Hawk Bay after testing revealed that bacteria levels in the water exceed the state and Environmental Protection Agency's recreational water quality standards.

BAE Said to Win $773 Million Indian Order for BAE Hawk Trainers
U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron is set to announce an order from India of about 500 million pounds ($775 million) for Hawk pilot-trainer aircraft from BAE Systems Plc, two people familiar with the matter said.

Universities partner to offer degrees on Northeast Side
The Alamo Colleges opened University Center on Wednesday at the old Northeast Lakeview campus on Pat Booker Road, an outpost where area students can earn a bachelor's or master's degree after completing the core curriculum at another university or community college.

South County Profile: Don Wehunt
Don Wehunt, of Anderson, grew up in the North State. After graduating from Anderson High School in 1966, Wehunt enrolled at Shasta College, but was soon drafted into the U.S. Navy. He served two tours in Vietnam aboard the USS Arlington, which was a communications ship. He then spent one more tour in Vietnam aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, an aircraft carrier.
