It was 106 years ago in the summer of 1903 that a Chicago man became the first U.S. citizen to own a Ford Model A, Orville Wright made the first documented, powered aircraft flight in Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Sylvie Culberston Gressett was born in the Central Texas community of Beattie in north central Comanche County.
